Drug Therapy (PDE5 Inhibitors) is one of the most successful ways of ED treatment. One of the latest and brightest discoveries in the ED drug treatment is Tadalafil, the action of which was discovered in 2002 and which was approved by US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2003. Tadalafil (brand name Cialis) was first discovered and popularity after the integrated marketing strategy of ICOS and Eli Lilly and Company (Lilly ICOS LLC). Cialis is the third ED and impotence fighting pill in the USA. The first one was Viagra (sildenafil) and Levitra (vardenafil). The functioning of Cialis is based on the muscle relaxing ability and on increasing blood flow to certain parts of the body. Reinforced blood flow entering the penis guarantees physiologically normal erection. Tadalafil pills which are manufactured and sold under “Cialis” brand name are almond-shaped, film-coated and of yellow color. It is produced in doses of 5, 10 and 20mg and is taken orally. Cialis has an essential advantage over Levitra and Viagra which consists in the fact that Cialis has 17 and a half hours of a half-life. It was scientifically proved that Cialis can work up to 36 hours, and even when this time is over a significant amount of the medicament (about 25%) is still in the body and can sustain adequate erectile function for some more time. Viagra – for comparison – has only 4-hours half-life. The empirical formula for Cialis (tadalafil) is C22H19N3O4, and its official organic name is (6R,12aR)-6-(1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-2,3,6,7,12,12a- hexahydro-2-methyl-pyrazino [1 ,2 :1,6] pyrido [3,4-b] indole-1,4-dione. The molecular weight is 389.41. Cialis tablets are produced in such forms and doses: • Cialis 5 mg - yellow, almond-shaped, film-coated tablets • Cialis 10 mg - yellow, almond-shaped, film-coated tablets • Cialis 20 mg - yellow, almond-shaped, film-coated tablets
